Shriya plays Saloni, Baapji’s granddaughter and Dev Virani’s wife in the show, and she shed light on her character’s journey. “I play the role of Saloni, a beautiful, educated, responsible girl introduced in the show as Baapji`s granddaughter. I`m bahu. And playing such a bahu in the iconic show is blessing.”

However, Shriya admitted that she doesn’t personally relate much to her on-screen persona. “But personally, I don`t think I relate to Saloni that much. In real life I`m more of a chill and straightforward person. In short I`m opposite of what Saloni is, but Saloni is such a character which I always wanted to play,” she said. She further revealed how this role marks a shift in her career, sharing, “I have mostly always played grey shade characters in my life. So when I got to know about Saloni`s character I was excited to unfold my journey in a different path now.”

The moment I entered on set and saw her, she smiled and shaked hand with me so nicely that all my nervousness shook away. She is not just a great actor but a great human as well.”
