Thane traffic update: Kapurbawdi traffic restrictions from April 28 to May 2

The Thane City Traffic Police on April 24, 2026, issued a traffic control notification ahead of the 26th anniversary celebrations at the Shri Saibaba Temple in the Kapurbawdi traffic sub-division.

Special traffic arrangements, including road closures and diversions, will be in place from April 28 to May 2, between 4:00 PM and 12:00 midnight daily.

Key restrictions and diversions

Several routes have been declared no-entry zones to manage congestion in the area.

Vehicles travelling from Saket towards Balkum via Majiwada will not be permitted on the usual stretch. Motorists are advised to turn left at Mahalakshmi Temple, pass through the Rustomjee Memorial cut, and merge onto the Nashik–Mumbai Highway.

Traffic moving from Kasheli towards Saket via Balkum will be diverted via Balkum Naka towards Kapurbawdi Circle.

Similarly, vehicles from the Lodha cut heading towards Balkum or Kasheli will be restricted. Commuters should take a right turn at the Lodha cut and proceed via the Saket-Mahalakshmi Temple route.

The diversions have been introduced to ease congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement during the celebrations.

Advisory for commuters

Emergency vehicles, including police, fire brigade and ambulances, will be exempt from the restrictions. Commuters are advised to plan their travel in advance and follow on-ground instructions from traffic personnel.

Further updates will be available on the official Thane Police platforms.
