Mumbai weather update: City to witness clear skies and humid conditions today

Mumbai is expected to witness clear skies along with hot and humid weather conditions on Saturday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The city is likely to continue experiencing warm daytime temperatures with discomfort caused by rising humidity levels.

The IMD has forecast a maximum temperature of around 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to settle near 26 degrees Celsius.

Despite the heat, Mumbai’s air quality remained in the ‘good’ category on Saturday morning, offering some relief to residents.

Mumbai AQI Remains In Good Category

According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board’s Sameer App, Mumbai recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 55 at 10 am on Saturday.

An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, while readings between 51 and 100 fall under the ‘satisfactory’ category. Although the city’s air quality remained largely stable, officials said sensitive individuals may experience minor breathing discomfort in some areas.

Several monitoring stations across Mumbai recorded AQI levels within the satisfactory to good range during the morning hours.

AQI Levels Across Mumbai Areas

Among key locations, Deonar recorded the highest AQI level at 81, while Sewri registered one of the cleanest air readings at 29.

Bandra Kurla Complex recorded an AQI of 65, Borivali East reported 53, while Chembur stood at 41. Colaba and Ghatkopar both recorded AQI levels of 54, while Kandivali registered 44. Mulund West recorded an AQI of 32.

Most areas across Mumbai continued to remain within acceptable air quality limits despite the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions.

IMD Issues Heatwave Alert For Mumbai And Nearby Districts

Meanwhile, the IMD has issued yellow alerts for heatwave conditions in several districts of Maharashtra, warning residents about rising temperatures and prolonged hot weather.

Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad remain under a yellow alert for heatwave-like conditions. Officials have advised people to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during afternoon hours and remain hydrated.

Ratnagiri, however, has been issued an alert for light to moderate rainfall, indicating changing weather patterns in parts of the Konkan region.

Thunderstorm And Rain Alerts Issued In Several Regions

The IMD has also forecast thunderstorm activity in multiple districts across Maharashtra.

Sindhudurg is under a yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, moderate rainfall and gusty winds with speeds reaching 30–40 kmph at isolated locations.

Pune and nearby ghat regions are likely to receive rainfall, while Kolhapur and adjoining ghat areas may witness thunderstorms over the next few days.

Districts including Sangli, Solapur, Nanded, Latur and Dharashiv have also been placed under yellow alert due to the possibility of isolated thunderstorm activity.

Several Districts Continue To Reel Under Intense Heat

Even as some regions are expected to receive rainfall, several districts in Maharashtra are likely to continue experiencing intense heatwave conditions.

The IMD has maintained yellow alerts for Akola, Amravati, Hingoli, Wardha, Parbhani, Jalna and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar due to rising temperatures and dry weather conditions.

Weather officials said Maharashtra is currently witnessing mixed weather patterns, with heatwave conditions prevailing in some regions while thunderstorms and rainfall activity continue in others.
