‘It’s a man’s world’: Rishita Kothari reacts to alleged spat with Parth Samthaan

Television actor Rishita Kothari has spoken out amid reports of an alleged on-set fallout with her Seher Hone Ko Hai co-star Parth Samthaan, addressing both the controversy and deeper issues she claims to have faced during filming.

Rishita Kothari reacts to the spat

In a recent interview, Kothari opened up about feeling dismissed and hurt on set, especially as speculation around her equation with Samthaan intensified online. While she did not directly confirm the details of the reported spat, she admitted that the environment at times became emotionally taxing. Reflecting on her experience, she said, “It began to hurt deeper,” indicating that the situation went beyond professional disagreements and began affecting her personally.

The controversy gained traction after reports suggested that the two leads had a disagreement significant enough to disrupt the shoot temporarily. Though neither actor has publicly confirmed the exact nature of the clash, the rumours triggered trolling and calls for Kothari’s replacement on social media, adding to the pressure she was already dealing with.

Amid this, Kothari highlighted a more serious concern gender bias within the industry. She revealed that she was once told, “it’s a man’s world,” a comment that left a lasting impact on her. The remark, she suggested, reflected a broader mindset that often sidelines women’s voices and contributions, especially in high-pressure work environments like television sets.

Despite the challenges, Kothari emphasised the importance of professionalism and mutual respect among co-actors. She noted that misunderstandings can arise in any workplace, but how individuals handle them determines the overall atmosphere on set. Rather than escalating the situation publicly, she chose to maintain a degree of silence, which she clarified should not be mistaken for arrogance.

On recent controversy

The ongoing situation has also impacted the show’s production, with reports suggesting delays and uncertainty linked to both the alleged fallout and external issues involving the cast.

While the full truth behind the reported conflict remains unclear, Kothari’s statements have shifted the focus toward larger conversations about respect, communication, and gender dynamics in the entertainment industry. Her candid remarks underline the emotional toll such controversies can take, especially on younger actors navigating their way through a competitive and often challenging professional space.
