​Fire breaks out at terrace of Thane building, no injuries reported 

A fire broke out on the terrace of a residential building in Maharashtra`s Thane on Wednesday evening, officials said, adding that no injuries were reported in the incident.

According to the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), the incident occurred at Om Rameshwar Building at Ram Maruti Road in Naupada area of Thane (West).

According to information received by the disaster management cell, the fire started in a store room situated on the terrace of the ground-plus-six-storey building.

The blaze affected materials stored inside, including electric wiring, plumbing items and other goods, civic officials said.

Emergency teams rush to spot

The officials said that the fire brigade personnel rushed to the scene along with one fire engine and a rescue vehicle. Teams from the disaster management unit also arrived with a utility vehicle. Staff from the electricity department were present to assist in ensuring safety at the site.

Fire brought under control

The fire was reported at around 6:10 pm and was completely extinguished by approximately 6:35 pm. Due to the quick response by emergency services, the situation was brought under control within a short time.

No one injured

Officials said that no injuries were reported in the incident. However, the fire caused damage to items stored in the room, including electrical and plumbing materials.

They stated that the situation is now fully under control, and there is no further risk.

Fire breaks out in garment godown at Sakinaka

Meanwhile, in an another incident, a fire broke out at a garment godown in the Sakinaka area of Andheri (East) on Wednesday evening.

According to officials, the incident was reported at around 6:02 pm by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB). The fire occurred at a garment godown located in Sethia Nagar on the 90-feet road, near Gulshan Hotel in Sakinaka.

The civic officials stated that the blaze was confined to a ground-plus-two (G+2) structure housing the garment godown. Firefighters reached the spot soon after receiving the alert and immediately initiated firefighting operations to contain the fire and prevent them from spreading to adjoining structures.

No injuries or casualties have been reported in the incident so far. Further details are awaited as authorities continue to monitor the situation.
