Actor Ranveer Singh recently found himself at the centre of one of Bollywood`s messiest controversies following his abrupt exit from Farhan Akhtar`s Don 3. Amid the feud with the filmmaker, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), on Monday, issued a non-cooperative directive against the actor. Meanwhile, the actor seemingly visited spiritual leader Sadhguru and asked about the purpose of life.
Ranveer Singh visits Sadhguru
The video of Ranveer Singh and Sadhguru`s interaction was shared by the spiritual leader`s official Instagram handle. Ranveer appeared reflective as he revealed the question that flooded his social media after he announced the meeting. The actor can be seen saying, “Yesterday, I put a tweet out saying I am meeting Sadhguru ji tomorrow. What should I ask him? And 80 per cent was, what is the purpose of life?”
Sadhguru responded in a philosophical, yet strikingly blunt manner, saying, “When you ask what is the purpose of life, essentially you are asking what is the use of life.” He added that life exists beyond “logical calculations” regarding utility or purpose. “There is no purpose. Life is a bigger phenomenon than your intellect,” he said.
The timing of the interaction has especially drawn attention since the spiritual conversation surfaced just when his fallout with the makers of Don 3 is in the spotlight.
FWICE`s non-cooperative directive against Ranveer Singh
For the unversed, on Monday, FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh, alleging that the actor failed to respond to repeated requests to appear before the body and justify his sudden exit from Don 3 after Farhan Akhtar approached the witgh a complaint. The directive allegedly restricts member technicians and workers affiliated with the federation from working with the Dhurandhar actor in the future.
Meanwhile, the banner backing Don 3, Excel Entertainment, has reportedly sought Rs 45 crore in compensation from Ranveer Singh, citing losses incurred during the film`s pre-production stage ahead of his abrupt departure.
While industry disputes in Bollywood are not new, the scale of the Don 3 fallout has sparked conversations around contracts, accountability and the power of film bodies over actors.
