Ram Charan’s viral stage moment in Bhopal brings back memories of Chiranjeevi

Actor Ram Charan had two goof-up moments on stage during an event in Bhopal for his upcoming Telugu film Peddi. The team had arrived in the city on Saturday to launch their new song titled Hellallallo. During the event, Ram Charan went viral for mistakenly referring to cricketer Jasprit Bumrah as a footballer and for accidentally addressing the citizens of Bhopal as Biharis. Clips of the actor’s blunders are now going viral on social media.

Like father, like son

As Ram Charan’s goof-ups gained traction online, fans dug up old videos of the actor and his father, megastar Chiranjeevi, revealing that this was not the first such incident. The video compilation showed that Ram Charan tends to forget names occasionally. Interestingly, fans pointed out that the habit may have come from his father, Chiranjeevi, who has famously mispronounced names, used incorrect names, or sometimes completely blanked out during public appearances.

Fans also created humorous video edits highlighting how the father-son duo share a similar struggle when it comes to remembering names.

What Ram Charan said about Jasprit Bumrah

During an interactive rapid-fire segment at the Bhopal event, Ram Charan was asked to describe famous Indian cricketers in a few words. He called Sachin Tendulkar’s career “legendary,” described MS Dhoni as “calm and cool,” referred to Rohit Sharma as “everybody’s man,” and labelled Virat Kohli as “fire.”

However, things took a humorous turn when Bumrah’s name came up. Ram Charan enthusiastically praised the cricketer but accidentally linked him to football instead of cricket. His comment quickly went viral across social media platforms, with fans sharing clips of the moment and creating jokes and memes around the mix-up.

Soon after the event, Ram Charan took to social media to apologise to Bumrah for the mistake. Calling it a “genuine human error,” the actor admitted that he sometimes gets forgetful with names during high-energy public events. He also clarified that he deeply respects Bumrah and is a huge admirer of his game. In his apology, Ram Charan praised the fast bowler for making every Indian proud with his performances on the cricket field.

Interestingly, this was not the only slip-up from the evening. During his speech, the actor also mistakenly addressed the crowd in Bhopal as people from Bihar before quickly correcting himself. Both moments rapidly gained traction online and became a major talking point among fans.
