Priyanka Chopra Jonas is currently in India for the shoot of her upcoming Telugu film Varanasi directed by S. S. Rajamouli. The actress has been shooting for the film in Hyderabad over the last few days and has been sharing glimpses of her life in the city through her Instagram Stories. Recently, the actress visited Mahesh Babu’s theatre in Hyderabad. She was accompanied by the actor’s wife Namrata Shirodkar and their daughter Sitara Ghattamaneni.
Priyanka visits AMB Cinemas
Pictures from Priyanka’s visit to the theatre have surfaced on social media. In the photos, Priyanka can be seen posing with the staff members at the theatre.
On Monday, AMB Cinemas shared a series of photographs on Instagram featuring Priyanka, Namrata, and Sitara with the staff members.
Along with the pictures, the cinema chain wrote, “Proof that the best is visited only by the best. Because when it comes to the perfect movie experience, there`s only one destination. And some experiences can only happen at #AMBCinemas. Like our Mandakini, @priyankachopra, along with @namratashirodkar and @sitaraghattamaneni, making AMB Cinemas shine a little brighter (sic).”
Priyanka wore a black polka-dot dress, while Namrata chose an off-white co-ord set. Sitara kept her look casual.
Priyanka Chopra calls Varanasi a ‘career-defining’ project
Earlier, while speaking with AP, Priyanka said she believes Varanasi will be “really career-defining” for her. She added, “The filmmaker’s name is S. S. Rajamouli, sir, and he is one of the best that we have in India. His movie is going to be really career-defining for me, I think. I am very excited about it.”
A few days earlier, she had said that the film is “unlike anything” she has ever done. She also revealed one condition she put forward to Rajamouli: “I was like, ‘Listen, I’m coming back to Indian movies. I have to do a dance song. You have to make me dance.’”

Priyanka has been cast as the leading lady, Mandakini, in the much-awaited drama. The first-look poster featured her holding a pistol while wearing a yellow saree. Apart from her, the project also stars Mahesh Babu as Rudhra and Prithviraj Sukumaran as Kumbha. The S. S. Rajamouli directorial is slated to release on April 7, 2027.
