​Mumbai weather update: Humid conditions continue as AQI stays in good category 

Mumbai is likely to witness partly cloudy skies on Monday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting maximum and minimum temperatures of around 34 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The Colaba observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 35.4 degrees Celsius, and Santacruz recorded 34.8 degrees Celsius.

Minimum temperatures in the city stayed high at 28.4 degrees Celsius in Colaba and 29.4 degrees Celsius in Santacruz, indicating humid and uncomfortable night conditions.

Mumbai’s AQI remains in ‘good’ category

Despite the warm and humid weather conditions, the city’s air quality remained in the `good` category on Monday morning.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board’s Sameer App, Mumbai recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 41, indicating minimal health impact on residents.

Among key locations in the city, Bandra Kurla Complex recorded an AQI of 25, Borivali East 36, and Byculla 19, reflecting clean air conditions.

Andheri East reported a relatively higher AQI of 66, while Chembur stood at 27, Colaba at 56 and Deonar at 52.

Air quality in MMR region

In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Thane recorded an AQI of 56, Navi Mumbai 45 and Kalyan touched 100, placing it in the moderate category.

Maharashtra weather update: Jalgaon hottest in state at 41.5 degrees Celsius

Maharashtra continued to reel under hot and humid weather conditions on Monday, with several districts recording maximum temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius, according to the IMD`s daily weather report.

Jalgaon emerged as the hottest location in the state at 41.5 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Aurangabad at 40.8 degrees Celsius, Jeur at 40.5 degrees Celsius and Osmanabad at 40.7 degrees Celsius.

Parbhani and Malegaon also recorded temperatures above the 40-degree mark at 40.1 degrees Celsius and 40.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Coastal and interior districts remain warm

Among coastal regions, Dahanu recorded a maximum temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius, while Ratnagiri registered 32.6 degrees Celsius.

Interior Maharashtra also witnessed above-normal temperatures in several districts, including Sholapur at 39.8 degrees Celsius and Nasik at 36 degrees Celsius.

Mahabaleshwar remains coolest

Hill station Mahabaleshwar remained comparatively cooler with a maximum temperature of 25.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 19 degrees Celsius.

High humidity adds to discomfort

Humidity levels remained high across most regions, especially in Mumbai, Ratnagiri and Mahabaleshwar, adding to discomfort levels for residents.
