​Maharashtra weather update: Chandrapur tops heat chart for second day 

Large parts of Maharashtra continued to experience hot and dry conditions on Thursday, with temperatures remaining above normal in several regions, according to the latest weather bulletin.

Vidarbha sizzles, Chandrapur tops chart

Vidarbha remained the hottest region in the state, with Chandrapur recording the highest maximum temperature for the second consecutive day, at 44.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Amravati at 44.0 degrees Celsius and Nagpur and Akola at 43.6 degrees Celsius each. Wardha and Bramhapuri also reported temperatures above 43 degrees Celsius, indicating persistent heatwave-like conditions in the region.

Madhya Maharashtra sees rising temperatures

In Madhya Maharashtra, Malegaon recorded a high of 43.0 degrees Celsius, while Jalgaon touched 42.0 degrees Celsius and Solapur 41.6 degrees Celsius. Pune registered a maximum temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius, slightly below normal, with a minimum of 21.4 degrees Celsius.

According to the weather bulletin, Hill station Mahabaleshwar remained relatively cooler at 31.3 degrees Celsius.

Konkan region records moderate heat

Coastal areas in the Konkan region experienced comparatively milder conditions. Mumbai recorded a maximum temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius, while Santacruz reported 34.3 degrees Celsius. Ratnagiri and Panjim hovered around 34-35 degrees Celsius, with no rainfall reported across the region.

Marathwada also under heat grip

Marathwada districts continued to witness high temperatures, with Parbhani recording 42.8 degrees Celsius and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar 41.2 degrees Celsius. Dharashiv also reported temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.

Dry weather persists across state

No rainfall was recorded across Maharashtra, with humidity levels remaining low. Pune recorded relative humidity levels between 30 per cent and 34 per cent during the day, reflecting dry atmospheric conditions.

Coolest night in Nashik

As per the bulletin, Nashik recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 19.7 degrees Celsius, offering relatively cooler night conditions compared to other regions.

Clear skies likely in Pune

The forecast for Pune indicates a mainly clear sky on Friday, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to hover around 37 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Above-normal seasonal rainfall in Pune

Despite current dry conditions, Pune has recorded seasonal rainfall of 92.8 mm, significantly above the normal of 13.1 mm, marking a surplus of 79.7 mm.
