Credit mix-up sparks row: Jisoo’s brother linked to drama amid controversy

The controversy surrounding Jisoo and her brother Kim Jung-Hoon intensified after viewers noticed his name in the post-credits of her Netflix drama Boyfriend on Demand, sparking online backlash. However, reports later clarified that his inclusion was not intentional.

Jisoo`s brother`s name gets removed from credits

According to the production team, the credit listing was the result of an internal error. They explained that a mistake occurred in the actor management credits during post-production, and it was identified shortly after the show’s release in March. The team stated that corrective measures were taken immediately, and the inaccurate credit was removed to avoid further confusion or privacy concerns.

The situation gained traction because it coincided with serious allegations against Kim Jung-Hoon, which are currently under police investigation. As these claims spread online, netizens began linking him to the series, assuming he had a formal role in its production. This led to criticism directed not only at him but also indirectly at Jisoo, despite no proven connection between her work and the controversy.

All about the controversy with Kim Jung Hoon

Amid the backlash, Jisoo’s agency, Blissoo, firmly distanced the singer-actress from the issue. In an official statement, the agency clarified that the matter is “entirely unrelated” to the artiste and warned against the spread of unverified claims. It also emphasised that much of the circulating information online is either speculative or false, reinforcing that Jisoo has no involvement in the allegations concerning her family member.

Further clarification also addressed rumours about Kim Jung-Hoon’s supposed professional ties to the agency or the show. Representatives stated that he holds no legal or managerial position within Blissoo, debunking claims that he was connected to Jisoo’s projects in any official capacity.

Ultimately, while his name did briefly appear in the credits of Netflix`s recent hit Korean show Boyfriend on Demand, it was due to a production oversight rather than actual involvement. The credit has since been corrected, and Jisoo continues to maintain distance from the ongoing investigation, as both her agency and the show’s producers attempt to contain misinformation and public speculation. Now, it will interesting to see where the legal route takes a turn in the case.
