​Fire breaks out near SGNP in Goregaon, no injuries reported 

A fire was reported in a forested area near Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) in Goregaon area of Mumbai, officials said, adding that no injuries were reported in the incident.

According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the blaze was reported at around 7:32 pm close to Infinity, IIT Park in Goregaon on Wednesday evening, prompting a large emergency response from multiple civic and government agencies.

Fire near SGNP boundary

An official from SGNP stated that the fire was reported on F E Dinshaw Trust land (Raheja area), located adjacent to the national park boundary.

The official added that staff members from the SGNP were present at the site and assisting firefighting teams in dousing the flames.

Teams rush to the spot

Teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, police, Forest Department and local ward staff were immediately rushed to the spot to control the blaze, it said.

The officials said that the fire occurred in a forest area and emergency personnel worked together to prevent the flames from spreading further.

The exact cause of the fire was under investigation.
