​Water supply in D, E and G South wards to be affected on May 8, check details 

Water supply in D, E and G South Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) wards of Mumbai will be affected on Friday, May 8, due to pipeline leakage repair works on Dr E Moses Road, the officials said.

According to the Mumbai civic body, a major leak has been detected in a 1650 mm diameter main water pipeline on Dr E Moses Road near Famous Studios in Mumbai.

The incident was first noticed on the night of May 6, 2026 after a significant burst caused heavy water leakage, it said.

The repair work began immediately at around 10 pm on the same night and has been continuing on a war footing due to the complex nature of the damage, the BMC said.

Repair work continues

The civic officials stated that the pipeline damage is severe and it requires extended repair works.

The repair work has continued through Thursday, May 7, 2026, with teams working continuously to restore normal supply as soon as possible.

Due to the scale of the work, the civic body has announced a planned water supply shutdown in several parts of the city.

Water cut in south Mumbai areas

The water supply, in some areas, will remain fully shut or will be provided at low pressure in parts of D Ward, E Ward, and G South Ward on May 8, 2026, the officials said.

Major affected areas include:

D Ward : Areas such as Lamington Road, Grant Road (East), Tardeo, Mumbai Central Station, Shuklaji Street and nearby localities will face either complete shutdown or low pressure supply.

E Ward: Kamathipura, Agripada, Nagpada, Belasis Road, Nair Hospital area, Kasturba Hospital area, and surrounding areas will be affected.

G South Ward: Some parts of Saat Rasta, Worli Dhobi Ghat, Dr E Moses Road vicinity, and nearby residential areas will face full disruption.

Advisory

The municipal authorities have appealed to citizens in the affected areas to use water sparingly during the disruption period and cooperate with the administration.

Officials have also assured that restoration work is being prioritised and normal water supply will be resumed as soon as repairs are completed.
