Nawazuddin Siddiqui addressed his viral remarks
During an exclusive chat with Zoom, Nawazuddin addressed the controversy, clarifying that his comments were being misinterpreted and were taken out of context. He stated, “Dekhiye aap jab koi baat karte hain na, to wo zaroori nahi ki jo recently release hui hai uske baare mein baat karein. Main 80s, 70s se baat kar raha hoon. Kuch filmein hoti hai aisi.” He added, “Achhi baat hai ki hamari industry ki ek khoobsurti hai – ismein har tarah ka cinema banta hai.”
Comparing the Ranveer Singh-starrer with his new film Main Actor Nahin Hoon, he revealed, “Ek agar Dhurandhar type ka cinema ban raha hai jo bada hit ho raha hai, jo hazaron lakhon karodon log dekh rahe hain. Us mein ek taraf hai hamari film. Unki ek din ki jo budget hai, usmein humne humne poori film banayi. To yahi khoobsurti hoti hai industry ki. Alag-alag tarah ka diversity hai films mein to wo honi bhi chahiye.”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui about Ranveer Singh`s acting
In the same interview, Nawazuddin Siddiqui also addressed the ongoing trend of mocking method acting, especially in the context of actors like Ranveer Singh, who have immersed themselves in the characters that they are playing.
Defending the practice in strong words, he said, “Agar aap uneducated hain to, wo ek coolness maana jata hai. Har cheez ke liye education zaroori hai, practice zaroori hai, seriousness zaroori hai.” He explained that the process of method acting, adding that it involves specific practices that help actors reach emotional depth, and that mocking the same is unfair. According to the Manjhi actor, every actor is serious about their craft, and thus the effort they put in is personal but essential. He added that the lack of sincerity is always visible on screen.
