​Man bludgeoned to death outside NMMC HQ in daylight attack 

An unidentified man was bludgeoned to death with a stone outside the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) headquarters in CBD-Belapur on Friday.

Daylight attack

The murder, carried out in broad daylight on a busy stretch, stunned residents and office-goers, raising serious concerns about safety in a key administrative zone. Police said the victim was attacked with a heavy stone in a sudden act of extreme violence. The accused fled the scene, leaving behind a gruesome sight.

Probe underway

Senior officers from the CBD-Belapur police station rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area, while forensic teams collected evidence. Senior Police Inspector Arun Pawar said that the investigation is underway, with multiple teams working to crack the case. “We are still investigating the case. The victim is yet to be identified, and the process is going on for identification. We have formed a team and are also checking CCTV footage to arrest the accused,” Pawar told mid-day.

With no clear motive yet, investigators are exploring all angles from personal enmity to a possible random act of violence.
