​Western Railway announces night block between Ram Mandir and Jogeshwari 

Western Railway (WR) on Friday announced a major night block on its suburban network between Ram Mandir railway station and Jogeshwari railway station to facilitate infrastructure work related to Metro Line-6.

As per the official statement from the Western Railway, the block will be carried out during the intervening night of May 2 and 3, 2026. WR will undertake the work for launching steel girders for Mumbai Metro Line 6.

The block on the 6th line will be in effect for 10 hours, from 9:30 pm on Saturday, May 2, to 7:30 am on Sunday, May 3. Additionally, a separate block will be taken on the UP Fast line and the 5th line between 1:00 am and 4:00 am on the same night.

During the block period, all trains normally operating on the 6th line will be diverted to the UP Fast line between Borivali railway station and Andheri railway station. However, some UP and DOWN suburban services will remain cancelled.

Railway authorities stated that detailed information regarding affected services is available at all suburban stations, and announcements will also be made for passenger convenience.

In addition to suburban disruptions, Train No. 19038 Avadh Express will be regulated by approximately 30 minutes between Surat and Borivali due to the block.

Passengers have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with the railway authorities during the block period.

Western Railway to dismantle staircase at Bhayandar railway station for upgrade work

Earlier on Thursday, Western Railway began dismantling the staircase of the second north foot overbridge (FOB) at Platform No. 6 of Bhayandar railway station as part of ongoing station improvement work.

Staircase removal linked to elevated deck project

According to officials, the removal of the staircase is necessary to facilitate the construction of a new elevated deck at the station. The project forms part of broader efforts to upgrade infrastructure and improve passenger movement within the station premises.

The dismantling work has been initiated with immediate effect.

Alternate route for commuters

In light of the change, commuters have been advised to use the skywalk that connects the two north foot overbridges over Platform No. 5. Railway authorities said the alternate route has been kept operational to ensure passenger movement is not severely disrupted during the work.

Temporary inconvenience expected

Western Railway acknowledged that the ongoing work may cause inconvenience to passengers using Platform No. 6. Officials stated that the changes are temporary and necessary to complete the infrastructure upgrade.

The railway administration has expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and has urged commuters to cooperate during the construction period.
