Watch: Vijay`s fan breaks down outside actor’s residence over lack of security

Actor-turned-politician Vijay is likely to become the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. In the recently held state elections, he had a historic debut with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Reportedly, he is likely to take the oath on May 7. Amid this, a video from his residence has surfaced in which a fan arrived to offer prayers to the actor and broke down after seeing that no security had been arranged for him.

Thalapathy Vijay’s fan breaks down

In a video shared on X by PTI, the fan is seen kneeling outside Vijay’s house and becoming visibly emotional after offering prayers. He also questioned why there was no police security present outside the residence.

“He will definitely become the Chief Minister. The news channels may say many things, but without a doubt, he is the one who will take the position. No matter how many obstacles come his way, he will face them and move forward. I feel deeply hurt. There is not even a single police officer here. I don’t even know what to say. It’s a strange feeling altogether. After struggling so much to come this far, it is painful to see such people doing these kinds of things,” the fan said.

Thalapathy Vijay declined police convoy vehicles

According to reports, until Wednesday, hundreds of police personnel had been deployed outside the actor’s house.

However, TVK chief Vijay declined to accept the police convoy vehicles provided to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister as per protocol until his swearing-in, the party said on Thursday. A police official confirmed that the CM convoy vehicles provided to him “as per protocol” following the announcement of the Assembly election results were returned and have not been withdrawn. The official also said that arrangements were in place for the swearing-in ceremony.

More about Thalapathy Vijay

Vijay is all set to quit his acting career and transition into full-time politics. However, he has been in the news for several controversies over the past few months. His last film, Jana Nayagan, is in limbo over a CBFC certificate issue, and it sparked concern after portions of it were allegedly leaked online. Amid this, his closeness with Trisha Krishnan and rumours of divorce from his wife Sangeetha have also garnered attention.

In May 2026, Vijay’s newly formed party, TVK, made a spectacular debut in Tamil Nadu, emerging as the single-largest party with 108 seats, falling just short of the 118-seat majority mark. TVK is likely to form the government in Tamil Nadu in alliance with the Congress.
