Emmy-winning HBO series The White Lotus is now in production on its fourth season, with filming taking place across France, the American network has announced.
Created, written and directed by Mike White, the new season will follow a fresh group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees, where people keep getting murdered over the span of a week. It is set against the backdrop of the Cannes Film Festival.
The White Lotus Season 4 begins filming
The series` official Instagram and HBO confirmed that production is now underway on the French Riviera. They posted a reel featuring behind-the-scenes clips from the sets and announced, “Season 4 is now in production (French flag emoji)”.
The reel includes the stunning landscapes of the Riviera and a grand and gorgeous hotel property.
The White Lotus Season 4 shoot locations
The shooting will take place across several high-profile locations.
For the first time, the series will feature White Lotus hotels. The Airelles Chateau de la Messardiere in Saint-Tropez will be the White Lotus du Cap, and the historic Hotel Martinez on the Croisette will stand in as the White Lotus Cannes.
While additional scenes will be shot in Paris, Cannes, St. Tropez, and Monaco, the story will remain rooted in the Cote d’Azur.
The production is expected to be present throughout the Cannes Film Festival, which takes place from May 12 to 23.
Reports about the filming taking place in France had first emerged in October, indicating luxury hotels in Paris and the Riviera as key sites.

The huge ensemble cast for the fourth season of The White Lotus includes Helena Bonham Carter, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Kumail Nanjiani and Nadia Tereszkiewicz.
