The Boys: Karl Urban`s season finale episode to get theatrical release

Fans of Prime Video`s show The Boys will get a chance to experience the explosive finale on the big screen before it arrives on streaming. In a move similar to what Netflix did for the final chapter of Stranger Things, Prime Video has announced a special theatrical screening of The Boys series finale in 4DX format.

The Boys to be screened on the big screen

The announcement was made through the show’s official X account on Wednesday morning. “In two weeks, we’re going out with a bang. Literally, because ya might vibrate watchin’ the series finale in 4DX. Get yer mitts on a seat with the purchase of a concession voucher, which is good towards sweets or soda the day of. See ya May 19 at 9:30 p.m,” read the post.

The finale is scheduled to play in cinemas on May 19, one day before it premieres on Prime Video on May 20.

The special screenings will be held across major theatre chains, including AMC Theatres, Regal Cinemas, B&B, Marcus, Cineplex, Cinema West, Cinepolis, and Regency.

Unlike a traditional ticket booking system, fans can reserve their seats by buying a concession voucher, which can later be redeemed for snacks or beverages at the venue.

About The Boys

Produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, The Boys is set in a dark, satirical world where superheroes are treated like celebrities, political icons, and near-godly figures- despite their corruption and abuse of power. The story follows a group of rebels determined to expose and bring them down.

The series features an ensemble cast including Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jensen Ackles, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, among others.

Created by Eric Kripke alongside Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the series is adapted from the comic books by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.

What to expect from the final season

The fifth and final season raises the stakes as Homelander tightens his grip on the world, turning it into a place ruled by his unstable and dangerous impulses.

Meanwhile, Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie find themselves imprisoned in a so-called “Freedom Camp,” while Annie fights to build resistance against the growing power of the Supes. Kimiko remains missing, and Butcher’s return, with a deadly virus capable of wiping out every Supe, sets off a chain of events that promises to change the world forever.
