​Thane: Fire breaks out at old Mumbra ward office, no injuries reported 

A fire broke out on Wednesday, April 22, at the Old Mumbra Ward Committee Office located in Sahayog Apartment in Mumbra. The blaze in the Thane district triggered a swift response from the Thane Municipal Corporation’s Disaster Management Cell and Fire Brigade.

As per the official statement, the incident was reported at around 6:53 pm by the Mumbra Fire Station. Soon after receiving the alert, firefighting teams rushed to the spot with adequate equipment to extinguish the blaze. The response team included two fire tenders, two high-rise fire tenders, and one rescue vehicle.

Fire extinguished after two hours

Firefighters worked for over two hours to bring the situation under control. The blaze was successfully extinguished by approximately 9:00 pm, officials confirmed. Cooling operations were underway for several hours to prevent any possibility of the fire reigniting.

While the fire did seem intense initially, no injuries or casualties have been reported in the incident so far, providing relief to local residents and authorities alike.

Moreover, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, while further investigation is still underway. 

Blaze erupts at Manpada foam unit in Thane

A fire broke out at Shri Foam Agency in Thane West on Tuesday evening, with fire tenders rushing to the spot. The blaze was later brought under control, with no injuries reported. 

The incident was reported at around 7:47 pm on 21 April 2026 to the Thane Municipal Corporation’s Disaster Management Cell. The blaze erupted at Ray Master Compound near St Xavier’s High School in Manpada on Ghodbunder Road. Firefighters and emergency teams were immediately dispatched to the spot.
