Comedians Sunil Pal and Samay Raina were seen uniting on The Great Indian Kapil Show, where they faced off and roasted each other in their signature style. During the episode, Samay also revealed that Kapil Sharma had warned him just a day before the India`s Got Latent row.

Bringing history into the spotlight, Kapil Sharma joked about how Sunil had once labelled Samay the “aatankvaadi of comedy”. Kapil said, “Sunil bhai jab bhi manch par jaate hain hamesha bolte hain main Sunil Pal comedy ka laal aur Samay ko ye comedy ka aatankvaadi bolte hain. Aisa kaun sa aapne inko munh se grenade phenkte hue dekh liya? Kuch vichaar aap pesh karein.”

To this, Sunil Pal replied, “Kapil bhai agar ye muh se grenade maar dete toh achha tha, lekin jo ye maarte hain woh nahi saha jaata hai. Jo samajh mein nahi aata woh samaj mein nahi aata hai. Aur jo samaj mein nahi aata woh toh aatankvaadi hi hota hai na?” (“Kapil bhai, if he actually threw grenades from his mouth, that would’ve been better—but what he does throw isn’t something you can tolerate. What people don’t understand doesn’t get accepted in society. And what isn’t accepted in society… that’s considered a terrorist, right?”)

Samay then said, “Inko mujhse itni hi dikkat hai ki main kya kahoon, muh se grenade maarta hoon, main kya boloon, bataaiye jo bhi dikkat hai,” before taking a playful dig, “Main mele mein perform nahi karta hoon, main ulti-seedhi baatein karta hoon. Mujhe aapse koi dikkat nahi sir, bas ek hi hai — aap brush kyun nahi karte ho yaar” (“He has this much of a problem with me, what should I even say—that I throw grenades from my mouth? What should I say? Tell me whatever the issue is,” before taking a playful dig, “I don’t perform at fairs, I talk nonsense. I have no problem with you, sir—just one thing: why don’t you brush your teeth?”).

Further, during the episode, Kapil revealed how he had been following Samay`s show even before the controversy erupted. When Ranveer Allahbadia asked him about it, Kapil said, “I have watched many episodes. I even called Samay. I called and told him, `How is there not a single case against you?`”

That is when Samay recalled, “And I swear, the day my show shut down, sir called me a day before that, he told me something bad is going to happen to you.”

Responding to this, Kapil explained that his comment came from experience rather than foresight. “I told him that you`re in the limelight now, be careful. I was telling that from experience, I`m not a clairvoyant. You can be famous by saying anything, but once you`re famous, you can`t just say anything,” he said.
