Mumbai is likely to witness a partly cloudy sky on Thursday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting maximum and minimum temperatures of around 33 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Meanwhile, the city’s air quality remained in the `good` category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board’s Sameer App, Mumbai recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 41 on Thursday, indicating minimal health impact.

Among key locations in the city, Bandra Kurla Complex recorded an AQI of 35, Byculla 48, Andheri 50, Ghatkopar 44 and Chembur 27. Borivali East and Deonar reported comparatively higher AQI levels at 60 each, though still within the ‘satisfactory’  range.

In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Thane recorded an AQI of 64, while Navi Mumbai registered 49. Kalyan reported an AQI of 100, placing it at the higher end of the moderate category.

Maharashtra weather update: State sizzles as Parbhani records season high of 43 degrees Celsius

Maharashtra continued to witness hot and humid weather conditions on Thursday, with several districts recording temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius, according to the latest weather report issued at 8:30 am.

Parbhani recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 43 degrees Celsius, followed by Jalgaon at 42.1 degrees Celsius. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Malegaon also reported scorching conditions with temperatures touching 41.6 degrees Celsius each, while Beed registered 40.4 degrees Celsius.

Humid conditions prevail in Mumbai

In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Colaba recorded a maximum temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius, while Santacruz registered 34 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels remained high in the city, with relative humidity recorded at 72 per cent in Santacruz at 8:30 am.

Marathwada, north Maharashtra continue to reel under heat

Several parts of Marathwada and north Maharashtra continued to experience intense daytime heat, while coastal regions remained warm and humid. Alibag recorded 37.1 degrees Celsius, Ratnagiri 33.6 degrees Celsius, and Dahanu 35.9 degrees Celsius.

Mahabaleshwar remains coolest in the state

Among relatively cooler locations, Mahabaleshwar recorded a maximum temperature of 26.9 degrees Celsius, the lowest in the state, followed by Kolhapur at 32.9 degrees Celsius.

Hot and humid weather likely to continue

Weather officials indicated that hot and humid conditions are likely to persist across several parts of Maharashtra over the next few days.
