Mouni Roy’s Cannes appearance comes amid her separation from Suraj Nambiar after four years of marriage. It all began after fans noticed that they had unfollowed each other. On May 14, the couple confirmed their separation, sharing an official statement, a part of which read, “We would like to state that we have decided to part ways and are taking the necessary time to address matters privately and amicably. Attempts have been made to sensationalise our private lives by circulating fictitious narratives and blatant falsehoods, which do not reflect the reality of our relationship.”
They wrote in the caption, “Humbly requesting everyone to give us privacy and dignity and not give out any false stories about me or Suraj.” Mouni and Suraj even dismissed claims around alimony or third-party involvement being the reason behind their separation.
