​Massive fire erupts at warehouse and garage in Thane’s Kolshet area 

A major fire broke out at a cardboard warehouse and a nearby garage in Thane’s Kolshet area on Tuesday morning, officials said.

The incident was reported around 7:40 am near the Last Bus Stop on Pipeline Road at Taricha Pada in Thane West, according to the Thane Municipal Corporation’s Disaster Management Cell.

Soon after the alert, personnel from the Disaster Management Cell rushed to the spot with a pickup vehicle, while teams from the Fire Brigade deployed two fire engines and a jumbo water tanker to contain the blaze.

Authorities said no injuries have been reported so far.

Firefighters and disaster management officials are continuing efforts to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Fire breaks out at Andheri railway reservation office

In a separate incident, a fire broke out at the Andheri East railway reservation office in suburban Mumbai on Monday evening following a short circuit near the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counter, officials said.

The incident occurred at around 6:20 pm, causing brief panic among staff and passengers present at the booking office.

Fire safety personnel immediately used fire extinguishers to douse the flames.

The fire was brought under control by 6:35 pm, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the office.

Officials said that no injuries were reported in the incident.

Police and civic officials reached the spot soon after the incident to assess the situation. Preliminary findings suggest that an electrical short circuit triggered the fire.

Further details are awaited.

Level-II fire reported in Dharavi garment units

In a similar incident, a Level-II fire broke out at Ashok Mill Compound on 90 Feet Road near Laxmi Medical in Dharavi on May 17, officials said.

According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the incident was reported at 10:39 pm, following which firefighting teams were rushed to the spot.

The fire was initially declared a Level-I blaze at 11:04 pm before being upgraded to Level-II at around 3 am.

Officials said the fire was confined to electric wiring, electrical installations, garment machinery, wooden furniture, tables, chairs, readymade clothes and raw materials stored inside multiple galas spread across ground-plus-one, ground-plus-two and ground-plus-three floored structures.

The affected area measures approximately 40 by 70 feet, according to civic officials.

Firefighters continued efforts to bring the blaze under control during the early hours, while cooling and firefighting operations remained underway.

No injuries were reported in the incident till the latest update, officials said.
