​Maharashtra: Eight killed after SUV falls into gorge in Raigad 

Eight persons were killed after a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) plunged into a gorge in Maharashtra`s Raigad district, police said on Monday, reported PTI.

The incident occurred in the Ambenali Ghat area on Poladpur-Mahabaleshwar road on Sunday, they said, reported PTI.

The victims hailed from Satara. They were on their way from Dapoli to Satara when the vehicle fell into the gorge, a senior police official said.

Delivery executive killed in road crash

In another incident, a 21-year-old delivery executive was killed after a motorcycle rammed into his two-wheeler in Nagpur, police said on May 24, adding that the biker and the pillion rider were injured, reported PTI.

Police said Yuvraj Mukesh Alone (23) of Ballarshah was riding a motorcycle at high speed when he allegedly hit the scooter driven by Aditya Meshram, who was delivering orders, on May 22 night, reported PTI.

“Doctors declared Meshram dead during treatment,” a Pratap Nagar police officer said.

A case has been registered against Alone on the complaint of the victim`s father.

Couple, 6-year-old daughter killed as tipper truck hits moped in Wardha

Meanwhile, A couple and their 6-year-old daughter were killed on May 22 after their moped was hit by a tipper truck in Wardha district, a police official said, reported PTI.

The incident took place on the Hinganghat stretch of the national highway, he added.

“Gajanan Wankhade (45), his wife Pallavi Wankhade (38) and their daughter Aarohi were coming on a moped from Jangona towards Hinganghat to buy clothes, when a tipper truck coming from the opposite direction rammed into their two-wheeler,” the official said, reported PTI.

The three were declared dead on arrival by doctors at a nearby hospital, the Hinganghat police station official said.

Man killed in MSRTC bus-motorcycle collision in Beed

In another incident, a 22-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus in Beed on May 21, a police official said, reported PTI.

The incident took place at 8:30 pm near Neknoor on Ahilyanagar-Ahmedpur highway, he added.

“An MSRTC bus going from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Latur rammed into the motorcycle of Ravi Vinayak Dudhbhate, a resident of Wadgaon in Tuljapur tehsil of Dharashiv district. The impact of the collision was so severe that the motorcycle got lodged in the front portion of the bus. Dudhbhate died on the spot,” he said, reported PTI.

A case has been registered and further probe is underway, the Neknoor police station official added.
