Mohanlal`s much-anticipated film Drishyam 3 has been creating waves ever since it released on May 21, which coincided with the 66-year-old actor`s birthday. On the day of its release, Mohanlal surprised his fans by showing up at the theatre and watching the film with them. He also celebrated his birthday by cutting the cake with fans. Amid the viral videos of the celebrations, a video of Mohanlal getting teary-eyed has also surfaced online.
Mohanlal tears up watching Drishyam 3
In the clip that has caught the internet`s attention, Mohanlal is seen wiping away tears as he sits with his Drishyam 3 crew and watches a first-day, first-show screening of the film with fans. The actor is even seen thanking a member of the audience who appreciated him.
The release day marked a dual celebration, as the highly anticipated film hit theatres on the day of the actor`s birthday.
Previously viral videos show Mohanlal donning a traditional outfit, waving at fans and cutting a cake. Fans were also seen expressing their excitement and cheering after his unexpected visit to the theatre.
Mohanlal pens note of gratitude for fans
Following the release of the film, the actor took to social media to thank his fans for the overwhelming response to Drishyam 3. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “Waking up to an ocean of love today has left me deeply moved. Every wish, every prayer and every heartfelt message has filled my heart with immense gratitude. It is moments like these that remind me how blessed I am to have such warmth and kindness around me. Thank you for being such a beautiful part of my journey and for making today so special. Grateful for each and every one of you.”
Drishyam 3 witnesses the return of Mohanlal as Georgekutty alongside the supporting cast of Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sarath, Siddique, Murali Gopy, and K. B. Ganesh Kumar in pivotal roles. The film, which is the third instalment of the Drishyam series, is written and directed by Jeethu Joseph and is backed by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
The crime thriller has music composed by Anil Johnson, cinematography by Satheesh Kurup, and editing by V. S. Vinayak.
