Don 3 row: Ranveer Singh returns Rs 10 crore, offers stake to settle exit

Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 took an unexpected turn in the past few weeks when the actor exited the project, following which the filmmaker’s banner, Excel Entertainment, demanded damages from the actor. While several authorities intervened to settle the matter, it looks like it has come to a fair conclusion. As per reports, Ranveer has returned the signing amount and given the production house a stake in his next project.

Ranveer Singh compensates for Don 3

As per reports by Free Press Journal, “Ranveer has gracefully agreed to return his signing amount, which was reportedly around Rs 10 crore. To further compensate Excel, he has reportedly agreed to give them a ‘stake’ in his next film, tentatively being referred to as Pralaay.” The source did not reveal the exact percentage of the stake because everything on Pralaay, from the budget to when it is likely to go on floors, is fluid at this juncture. It added, “However, just the fact that Ranveer has shown so much grace is good enough to make him a fair player in the industry. Like they say in fairy tales, all is well that ends well.”

About Don 3 controversy

A significant dispute emerged between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar’s production house, Excel Entertainment, following Ranveer’s exit from the highly anticipated film Don 3. The Producers Guild of India intervened in the mediation. The core issue centered on Excel Entertainment demanding Rs 40 crore in compensation from Ranveer for pre-production expenses, scheduling delays, and related losses.

The actor reportedly left due to dissatisfaction with the script and the lack of a “bound script.” He also reportedly claimed that Farhan tried to prioritise other projects and his acting career over Don 3, which left the Dhurandhar star to ‘endure’ three years of indecision.

About Pralay

After the historic success of Dhurandhar (2025), Ranveer Singh is gearing up for Pralay, a high-concept zombie drama set during the COVID-19 pandemic and directed by Jai Mehta. Mounted on an estimated Rs 300 crore budget, it marks his most expensive standalone project. The movie is expected to go on floors in mid-2026. It stars Kalyani Priyadarshan alongside Singh.
