He said only authorised persons should visit designated areas and warned against any attempts to disturb public order.

According to the IANS, Muslim religious leader Mufti Muhammad Ashfaq Kazi said India’s tradition of communal harmony must be preserved and all festivals should continue to be celebrated peacefully.

He said discussions during the meeting focused on legal awareness, slaughterhouse operations and cleanliness measures during Bakrid.

He also urged members of the Muslim community to comply with civic rules, including registration requirements for animals with the BMC, the news agency reported.

Kazi added that a team of lawyers would work to prevent incidents that could disturb law and order.
