Cannes 2026: Guneet Monga champions global pathways for South Asian stories

May, in Guneet Monga Kapoor’s date diary, is always blocked for the Cannes Film Festival. This year too, the producer is French Riviera-bound, where she has been chosen as a guest speaker at the panel discussion, titled Reimagining Global Pathways and Financing for Stories That Travel.

Given her rich experience in international co-productions, courtesy The Lunchbox (2013) and Masaan (2015), Monga is the perfect participant for the panel that will discuss creating distribution networks for films and forging international co-productions. Monga said, “Platforms like this are critical in connecting creators with the right partners, capital, and markets, ensuring that powerful stories are not limited by geography.”

Non-profit platform Tasveer has organised the session, with co-founder Rita Meher moderating it. Meher added, “It’s imperative that South Asian voices are not only represented, but are shaping the discourse.”
