Have you heard? Sanjay Dutt`s daughter Trishala on joinging Bollywood

Papa, meri jaan

Trishala Dutt once toyed with the idea of joining Bollywood, but not for the spotlight. Speaking on the Inside Thoughts Out Loud Podcast, she admitted it stemmed from a far more personal place: wanting to be closer to her father, Sanjay Dutt. “I did think about that when I was younger. I just wanted to be closer to my dad,” she said, recalling a phase where proximity mattered more than passion. Her father, however, offered a reality check wrapped in experience. “He’s been through hell and back. ‘Is this your calling?’” That question clearly stuck. Instead of chasing films, Trishala chose a different script — one rooted in mental health, carving out her own identity far from the shadow of cinema.

Engaging in war of words

Javed Akhtar and Aamir Khan

When Aamir Khan tried to compliment Javed Akhtar, he accidentally walked into a masterclass in wit. At a recent event, Aamir asked, “I always enjoy listening to you. How do you remain relevant across generations?” before casually placing Javed in his “eighties”. Cue the comeback. “First of all, don’t say ‘eighties’,” Akhtar quipped. “Because even 87 falls in the eighties, and I’m only 80. The ‘s’ you’ve added has had a very negative effect on my age.” The room and Aamir burst into laughter, with the actor quickly conceding, “My apologies.” Safe to say, age is just a number, but wording? Crucial.

(L-R) Usha Mangeshkar, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle

For Usha Mangeshkar, silence has become the loudest presence at home. Speaking at the 18th Newsmakers Awards 2026 in Mumbai, she opened up about the emotional void left by the loss of her elder sisters. Calling Asha Bhosle’s passing “a big shock”, she said, “My elder sister has passed away. I have lost my two elder sisters in the past eight years. It is a very big shock for me and also for the entire country as they lost a big singer.” The memories remain, but so does the ache. “I have a lot of memories. We have been together since childhood. Now I feel very lonely and sad at home,” she added.
