Four Mumbai children dive into what they are reading this summer

A Language of Dragons by SF Williamson
Srousha Chhabria Bisht student, Ascend International School, BKC

The book is set in 1923 London. The dragons and humans have a whole system and a peace treaty, and a girl called Vivien Featherswallow wants to become a skilled dragon linguist. My friend gave me this book, and it is lovely. I like reading about dragons, but most of the time I get recommended, Wings of Fire. I was happy to find something else about the subject. I admire Vivien’s determination throughout the book.

SUMMER RECCOS
» Impossible Creatures by Katherine Rundell
» Murder Most Unladylike by Robin Stevens
» The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart
Dhwani Jain student, JBCN Parel

It’s a thrilling adventure mystery highlighting the importance of friendship. I loved the talent that the characters in the book had and the genius with which the novel was planned. The cliffhanger at the end was absolutely toe-curling. If you don’t have hours to read it, don’t start, because this book is totally unputdownable.

SUMMER RECCOS
» The Inheritance Games series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
» I Was Born for This by Alice Oseman

Pages & Co. series by Anna James
Leela Durga Tridha School, Andheri East

The minute I picked it up I knew that I wouldn’t be able to stop. It is an enthralling, exciting series about a girl and two of her friends who can travel into books. They go into many different books, meet different characters, encounter sinister villains, and always win in the end. And there are six books in the series, so it’s all the more fun.

SUMMER RECCOS
» The Star of Kazan by Eva Ibbotson
» The Wolf Wilder by Katherine Rundell

Ninja Nani series by Lavanya Karthik

The book has dogs, zombies, and mummies! It is perfect for late night binges, summer afternoon reading sessions, or to get you out of a reading slump. It blends humour, adventure, and superpowers all into one perfect series.
