​Fire breaks out in hutments in Mazgaon, no injuries reported 

A fire broke out in a cluster of hutments in Mazgaon area of Mumbai on Tuesday, officials said, adding that so far no injuries have been reported in the incident.

The incident was reported at around 11 am in the Ekta Nagar area near Hancock Bridge.

According to officials, the fire was limited to around seven to eight hutments comprising ground-plus-partly one and two-storey structures.

Quick action by the fire brigade helped contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further, officials said.

Level I fire

The Mumbai Fire Brigade declared it a Level I (minor) fire at approximately 11:03 am, indicating that the situation was under control but required immediate response.

Multiple agencies were mobilised to handle the situation, including the officials from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Mumbai Fire Brigade, local police, BEST authorities, 108 ambulance services and ward staff.

No injuries reported

As per initial reports, no injuries have been reported in the incident.

The officials said that they were examining the situation and assess the damage caused.
