Maine Pyar Kiya: Daboo Malik denies replacing Salman Khan, Amaal Mallik reacts

Bigg Boss 19 contestant and music composer Amaal Mallik believes in calling a spade a spade. He never shies away from being unfiltered, and this time was no different. In a recent interview, Amaal claimed how his dad, Daboo Malik, lost Maine Pyar Kiya. However, Daboo denied the claims and clarified that the movie in question was Sawan Jhoom Utha. Now, Amaal has reacted to his father’s denial, revealing why he can’t speak the truth.

Amaal Mallik on his dad’s claims

A video of Amaal and Daboo’s contradictory statements went viral on X. Reacting to his father’s statement, Amaal Mallik maintained his stand and tweeted, “He is just being respectful because he can’t speak the truth out of respect for his friendship with Salman sir… Anyway, no big deal. Keep hating, I’ll keep creating.”

The issue began when Amaal alleged that his father had originally been associated with Maine Pyar Kiya but was replaced by Salman Khan. However, Daboo Malik recently addressed the matter and said that he was not involved in the film. Amaal responded on social media, maintaining his earlier stance.

About Amaal and Daboo Malik’s statements

A few days ago, while speaking to Filmfare, Amaal Malik recalled how his father had initially been cast as the lead in Sooraj Barjatya’s Maine Pyar Kiya. “My dad was lost when he was around 34–35. He tried acting—he shot for the first two schedules of Maine Pyar Kiya as the hero. Somewhere in the process, a more stupendously good-looking man came through, and it was Salman Khan.”

He recalled how Daboo saw Salman going up the stairs of Rajshri’s office and added, “He asked the security guard who he was, and he said, ‘He is a new hero, the leading star in the film Maine Pyar Kiya.’ My dad didn’t know—he wasn’t told. He had shot, and the cassette was made, but he accepted it.”

Reacting to Amaal’s claims, Daboo, in an interview with Buzzoka, clarified, “The movie I was doing was Sawan Jhoom Utha, not Maine Pyar Kiya. That was canned. After working hard for a year, we learned the film was not being made. One day, I went to the Rajshri office and saw a poster of Maine Pyar Kiya with a new leading pair. The two projects were not the same. That said, when I eventually watched Maine Pyar Kiya, I did find a few elements that felt similar to Sawan Jhoom Utha.”
