Ashu Reddy has landed in the middle of a major controversy after being accused in a Rs 9.35 crore cheating case linked to an alleged promise of marriage. The case, which has drawn widespread attention, involves serious financial and personal allegations made by the family of a London-based software engineer.
Ashu Reddy embroiled in a marriage scam
According to reports, the complaint was filed by the father of Y.V. Dharmendra, who claimed that Ashu and his son were in a relationship for several years. During this time, she allegedly promised to marry him and, on that basis, received large sums of money, gold, and property. The total value of these transactions is said to be around Rs 9.35 crore.
The complainant further alleged that the money was spent on luxury items, including cars, flats, and other assets, many of which were reportedly registered in Ashu’s name. It has also been claimed that her family members were involved, with her sister allegedly receiving an additional Rs 50 lakh.
The relationship reportedly began around 2018, while Dharmendra was going through divorce proceedings. Over the years, the complainant claims that repeated assurances of marriage were given, but the wedding never materialised. Despite attempts to resolve the matter and push for a formal commitment, Ashu allegedly backed out, eventually cutting off contact in 2025. This led to the filing of a police complaint.

Authorities have since registered a case and initiated an investigation into the allegations. Officials have indicated that what initially appeared to be a personal relationship dispute has taken a more serious turn due to the scale of financial transactions involved.
Responding to the controversy, Ashu Reddy has strongly denied all accusations. Taking to social media, she dismissed the reports as “false” and “misleading,” and warned that she would take strict legal action against anyone spreading unverified or defamatory information about her.
