The Devil Wears Prada 2 cast is currently busy with the world premieres of the film. After a successful New York premiere earlier this week, the makers hosted a screening in London. The film, directed by David Frankel, brings back the cast of the original, including Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, among others. Fans of the successful film are eagerly looking forward to the May 1 release.

Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are related

While we wait for the film’s release, here’s an interesting fact about cast members Stanley and Emily. During the filming of The Devil Wears Prada (2006), the two were simply co-stars, but today they are related to each other.

For the uninitiated, Stanley Tucci married Emily’s sister Felicity Blunt in 2012. The couple also has two children together. This makes Emily an aunt to Stanley and Felicity’s kids.

Stanley Tucci is currently 65 years old, while Felicity is 45. The couple shares two children—Matteo, 11, and eight-year-old Emilia. The actor is also a proud father to son Nicolo, 25, and daughter Camilla, 23, whom he shared with his late wife Kathryn Spath, who tragically died of breast cancer in 2009 at the age of 47.

In a 2021 interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Stanley revealed that despite remarrying, he “never stops grieving” his first wife. 

How Stanley met Felicity 

Stanley was first introduced to Felicity through her younger sister Emily Blunt at the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada in 2006. At the time, his first wife, Kate, was still alive and undergoing cancer treatment, and actually met and talked to Felicity at the event. However, the two were not romantically involved until after Tucci`s wife passed away. In 2010, Tucci met Felicity at Emily Blunt and John Krasinski`s wedding at George Clooney`s estate on Lake Como.

Explaining the story, Stanley said in a BBC interview, `I met [Felicity] through her sister… Emily. I had met her at the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada. My late wife was still alive, she was undergoing treatments for cancer. She passed away a couple of years later (in 2009). A year and a half after that, I went to Emily`s wedding in Italy and I saw Felicity and then I was coming [to the UK] to do Captain America and we started dating and that was it.`

When Stanley addressed the 21-year age gap 

When they started dating in 2010, Stanley was 49 while Felicity was just 28. They bonded over their shared love for food. But he had his concerns over the age gap and had also considered breaking up with her. 

He told BBC`s Desert Island Discs, “I was afraid to get into a relationship and I kept trying to break it off because I am so much older than she is and I didn`t want to feel old for the rest of my life. But I knew this was an incredibly special person.”

He added, “Felicity has been so incredible taking on a widower and three children. That`s a huge thing at a very young age too. If anybody made things better for all of us, it`s her. She`s the one”. 

Stanley and Felicity got engaged in 2011 and tied the knot a year later in the summer of 2012.
