According to reports, the first phase of the Kolkata schedule is centred on Ganguly`s childhood and upbringing, revolving around his journey from the lanes of Behala to becoming a world-class cricketer.
The Kolkata shoot reportedly began early Tuesday morning at Sourav Ganguly’s residence in Behala. Later on Wednesday, the team shot at Kolkata’s historic East Bengal Club grounds, recreating the phase when Sourav played cricket for Aryan Club. Elaborate sets were erected on the premises, amid tight security, where Rajkummar Rao was seen filming in a red tracksuit.
The team has also shot portions of the film at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
As the IPL 2026 season at Eden Gardens concluded on Sunday, the makers were able to start filming at the iconic stadium. Additionally, portions are also being reportedly shot at the Dukhiram Cricket Coaching Centre and Sourav’s residence in Behala. Interestingly, the former cricketer was also present during portions of the shoot at both his home and Eden Gardens.
