Celina Jaitly joins Preity Zinta for PBKS vs MI match amid divorce battle

Preity Zinta’s team, Punjab Kings (PBKS), had begun their Indian Premier League campaign on a strong note, registering back-to-back victories. However, their winning momentum came to a halt as the team suffered four consecutive defeats.

Celina Jaitly cheers for PBKS

On Thursday, Punjab Kings faced Mumbai Indians in a crucial clash. Unfortunately for PBKS, the match ended in yet another heartbreak, with the side suffering its fifth straight defeat.

Preity, who has attended almost every match of her team this season, was spotted in the stands, visibly invested in the high-pressure encounter. Joining her was actress Celina Jaitly, who is currently undergoing a divorce and custody battle.

Celina was seen wearing a Punjab Kings jersey and passionately cheering for the team. Cameras captured her growing tense towards the final overs as PBKS’s hopes of securing a win began to fade.

PBKS’s narrow loss

Shreyas Iyer described Punjab Kings’ narrow defeat against Mumbai Indians as “a tough pill to swallow” after his side failed to defend a 200-run total in a thrilling contest at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.

Punjab Kings looked in control after posting 200/8, with Prabhsimran Singh scoring a rapid 57 and Azmatullah Omarzai providing a crucial late push with 38 off just 17 balls.

However, Mumbai Indians chased down the target with one ball to spare, powered by Tilak Varma’s unbeaten 75 and an explosive start from Ryan Rickelton.

Latest on Celina Jaitly

Meanwhile, Celina’s appearance at the stadium comes at a time when she is battling a divorce and custody case against her Austrian husband, Peter Haag.

The Mumbai Police recently registered an FIR against Haag based on a complaint filed by the actress. He has reportedly been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in connection with allegations of cruelty, physical harm, criminal intimidation, and sustained harassment.

Earlier, in an interview with Mid-Day, Celina’s lawyer, Niharika Karanjawala, alleged that the abuse “lasted many years spanning through their marriage” and included “physical cruelty, manipulation, emotional and verbal violence.”

The couple’s children, who are Austrian citizens, are currently with their father. Celina’s legal team has sought custody and continuous access to the children.
