​WR to operate major night block between Mumbai Central-Mahim on May 15-16 

Western Railway will operate a major night block during the intervening night of May 15 and 16, 2026, officials said on Thursday.

They said that the block will be undertaken for commissioning work related to electronic interlocking at Dadar Railway Station.

According to a press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer Vineet Abhishek, the block will take place from 12 midnight to 5 am.

Slow line trains diverted to fast lines

During the block period, all slow line suburban trains will operate on fast lines between Mumbai Central Railway Station and Mahim Railway Station.

As a result, trains will not stop at the following stations due to platform limitations Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi
Matunga Road and Mahim.

Western Railway said the temporary arrangement is necessary because of non-availability and inadequate platform length on the fast corridor for slow line services.

Last trains for affected stations

For passengers travelling to the affected stations, Train No. BA91021 Churchgate-Bandra local departing from Churchgate at 11:31 pm will be the last down direction train and will be extended up to Virar.

Similarly, Train No. BO90982 departing from Borivali at 11:03 pm will be the last up direction train serving the affected stations before the block begins.

Some services to remain cancelled

Western Railway has also announced that some suburban train services will remain cancelled during the block period.

Detailed information about cancelled and affected services will be available with station masters across the suburban section.

Passengers advised to plan journey

Railway officials have requested commuters to take note of the temporary changes and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the overnight block.

CR to operate block between Kurla-Bhandup from May 15 to 18

The Central Railway on Wednesday announced a special traffic and power block between Kurla and Bhandup stations in Mumbai from May 15 night to May 18.

The block will be operated at Vidyavihar railway station for the launching of girders for a new middle Foot Over Bridge (FOB), officials said.

The special traffic block will take place in the Kurla-Bhandup section over three nights, they said.

Railway officials said the maintenance work is necessary for infrastructure development and passenger safety.

Dates and timings of the block

The block will be carried out during the following periods:

– 1.15 am to 4.15 am on May 15/16 2026 (Friday/Saturday night)

– 12.10 am to 4.40 am on May 16/17 2026 (Saturday/Sunday night)

– 1.15 am to 3.05 am on May 17/18 2026 (Sunday/Monday night)

The affected section will be between Kurla railway station and Bhandup railway station.

Railway lines affected

The following railway lines will be affected during the block:

– UP and Down slow lines on May 15/16.

– UP and Down slow lines, fast lines, and 5th and 6th lines on May 16/17.

– Railway officials said that there will be no impact on train services during the nights of May 15/16 and May 17/18.

Several suburban train services will be diverted, cancelled, short terminated or short originated during the Saturday/Sunday night block.

Diversion of train services

Down slow services to Karjat departing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus between 11.30 pm and 12.12 am will run on the Down fast line between Matunga and Mulund stations. These trains will not halt at Vidyavihar, Kanjurmarg and Nahur stations.

UP slow services to CSMT departing Kasara from 10 pm onwards and Karjat services between 2.30 am and 3.43 am will run on the Up fast line between Mulund and Matunga stations. These trains will skip Nahur, Kanjurmarg and Vidyavihar stations.

Trains cancelled during the block

The following local trains will remain cancelled:

– Thane-Kurla local departing Thane at 11.40 pm

– Thane-CSMT local departing Thane at 4.04 am

– CSMT-Thane locals departing CSMT at 11.38 pm and 12.24 am

Trains schedules

The following trains will terminate before their scheduled destination:

– CSMT-Thane locals departing at 11 pm, 11.46 pm, 11.55 pm and 11.12 pm AC local will terminate at Kurla station

– Dombivli-CSMT local departing Dombivli at 10.18 pm will terminate at Thane station

The following trains will start from different stations:

– Kurla-Titwala local scheduled from Vidyavihar at 4.45 am will begin from Thane at 5.09 am

– Thane-CSMT local scheduled at 4.16 am will begin from Kurla at 4.42 am

Officials stated that there will be no impact on Mail and Express train services during the block on May 16/17.
