Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are all set to tie the knot on February 26 in Udaipur. After years of denying rumours about their relationship, the couple confirmed their wedding just days before the big day. Ahead of their much-awaited wedding, an old video of Vijay’s parents talking about their idea of an ideal daughter-in-law has resurfaced online.
What Vijay`s parents said about their dream daughter-in-law
In a 2018 video from the success meet of Geetha Govindam, Vijay’s parents, Govardhan Rao and Madhavi, spoke about their dream kodalu (daughter-in-law). During a conversation with anchor Suma Kanakala, the topic of Vijay’s wedding came up. Geetha Govindam was a massive hit and marked the first on-screen pairing of Rashmika and Vijay.
When asked about the kind of daughter-in-law she wished for, Vijay’s mother said she had only one condition: “Babu ni manchi ga chuskone kodalu vaste chalu (I just want a daughter-in-law who takes good care of my son). She should love him unconditionally, that’s all. He is in the industry, so she should understand him.”
Vijay’s father echoed similar sentiments, saying, “I just want him to marry whoever he wants. I don’t have any objections or expectations. I also don’t have expectations regarding caste or religion. It would make me happy if he married an Indian, especially a South Indian.”
At another event, Vijay had stated that he did not believe in an arranged marriage, adding, “Love marriage only, but my parents need to love the girl.”
Vijay, Rashmika confirm wedding in heartfelt post
In a joint announcement, Vijay and Rashmika revealed that their wedding will officially be called “The Wedding of VIROSH,” a name coined by fans.
In a note on Instagram, they wrote, “Our dearest loves, before we made any plans, before we chose anything for ourselves, you were already there. With so much love, you gave us a name. You called us ‘VIROSH’. So today, with full hearts, we name our coming together in your honour. We would like to name it ‘The Wedding of VIROSH’. Thank you for holding us with so much love. You are a part of us, always. Biggest hugs and full love!”
Recently, their alleged wedding card went viral on social media. According to it, the couple will tie the knot on February 26, followed by a grand reception in Hyderabad on March 4. Reports suggest that the pre-wedding festivities will begin on February 24, including Mehendi and Sangeet ceremonies, followed by Haldi and the wedding celebrations.
