Actor Vijay was recently seen in Mumbai on Friday as he reportedly attended filmmaker Atlee’s wife, Priya’s, baby shower in the city. The actor reportedly stayed at Taj Lands End in Mumbai, where fans who wanted to get a glimpse of the actor-politician lined up outside, waiting for him. Some fans even waited past midnight, while waving TVK flags and chanting slogans.

A fan page of Vijay on X (formerly Twitter) shared a series of videos showing a massive crowd gathered outside the Taj hotel, where he was staying in the city. One of the videos shows all the fans posing for a picture while holding up a TVK flag and chanting, “Thalapathy will be the CM, our vote is for TVK.” The video also had a Police van standing behind them.
The fan also posted another video of fans waiting outside the hotel even past 12:45 AM, hoping to catch a glimpse of Vijay. They waited patiently as some of them were seen wearing scarves with TVK party colours. It is not known if the actor met his fans. However, on Saturday, the actor-politician had reportedly returned to Chennai.
Vijay`s controversies
Vijay has lately been in the news for his personal life, his political career and his unreleased film. His wife, Sangeeta Sornalingam, filed for divorce after over 25 years of marriage in February. In her divorce petition, she cited infidelity, claiming that he was having an affair with an unnamed actress while still being married to her. Days after the news of the divorce petition surfaced, Vijay was seen attending a wedding reception with actress Trisha in Chennai, where they wore matching outfits.
Vijay has also been in the news due to the release of his final film, Jana Nayagan, which has been stalled since January. The actor will reportedly quit films for politics after the Tamil Nadu elections. The film that was expected to hit screens in January, however, is yet to be certified by the CBFC and get a new release date. Recently, reports suggested that the CBFC has also looped in the Election Commission of India (ECI) since Vijay is contesting in the upcoming assembly polls.
