Vajra: Tiger Shroff to shoot martial art action sequences in Japan

Earlier this week, mid-day reported that Tiger Shroff and filmmaker Ram Madhvani’s next has been titled Vajra (A spiritual actioner, March 4). Now we’ve got more details about the action film. The project will be shot extensively in Japan, making it the second Indian production in recent months after Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi’s Ek Din to be shot in the country.

Japan and its tradition of martial arts will apparently play a significant role in Madhvani’s narrative. An insider told mid-day, “Around 60 per cent of the story will be shot in Japan, and the remaining in Mumbai. With this movie, the director intends to blend Tiger’s action prowess and the country’s rich martial arts. The set-pieces will have elements of karate, judo, and kenjutsu that used to be practiced by samurais.”

Before Vajra rolls in late April, a multi-city schedule is being drawn up, with the first schedule expected to take place in Tokyo. The insider added, “The team is also looking at Kyoto, since it has strong ties to the country’s feudal martial history, and Okinawa.”
