Prabhas`s upcoming film The RajaSaab has been in the news largely due to its constant delays in release. The film’s team has announced multiple release dates, only to postpone each time. More recently, the makers revealed that the film will now be released in January, a month ahead of its initial December 5 release date. The film`s producer, V. Vishwa Prasad, has addressed the ongoing delays and blamed the VFX department for the postponement.
The RajaSaab producer on film`s delay
Talking to NDTV, Prasad said, “I can name a few people who really put us in trouble. I’ve already named one for Karthikeya 2, and another for The RajaSaab, who was really in extortion mode. He made us delay our movie because he didn’t do any of the work until October 2024. We were supposed to complete it by April 2025.”
Blaming the VFX supervisor, the producer further said, “He didn’t work on a single shot and just kept everything with him, taking a monthly fee for his entourage and team. He threatened the director that he would quit if he said something. This person has a habit of doing this. He was recently kicked out of SS Rajamouli’s film. Since he got busy with Pushpa 2, he didn’t do any of our work. Someday, I’ll show him what the fee is for his extortion.”
Vishwa Prasad on film`s climax
During the teaser launch of The RajaSaab in June this year, the producer opened up about the scale of the film. “I don’t know how Maruthi (the director) could manage that schedule. They would start shooting at 6 am and go on till 10 pm or 11 pm. And that went on for 120 days. This was just one schedule. Because you will see the grandest 40-minute climax coming from those 120 days.”
He further added, “After that, it took the VFX team 300 days to process that. But it is something we have not seen before.” Prasad revealed that the climax schedule and VFX work were the main reasons for the delay. “It took 120 days to shoot, and 300 days of VFX. The VFX was very important. That led to the delay. I know everyone was disappointed, but it was important to deliver the right quality in the best manner.”

The trailer opens with Prabhas’ character being controlled by Boman Irani’s character through hypnosis, immediately creating an intense and mysterious atmosphere. It also showcases his romance with three leading ladies, highlighting Prabhas’ witty, lively, and playful side. Several light-hearted moments and perfectly timed comic sequences balance the tension, making the trailer both thrilling and fun.
The suspense heightens in a flashback where an old woman worships Goddess Durga, praying for her grandson—Prabhas—followed by haunting visuals of a grand Haveli, chilling action, and a powerful soundtrack. Sanjay Dutt appears as a rugged, eerie figure, adding further intrigue. The trailer culminates with a reveal of Prabhas’ double role as the undisputed king, leaving fans excited about the story and upcoming surprises.
