When asked about the ongoing language and regional divide debates in India, the Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein actor shared that he never faced any trouble related to it. He told IANS, “No, I have never experienced it. I speak Tamil. I speak Hindi. And I have studied in Kolhapur also. I have learnt Marathi also. So, I have never had any problem because of language. Ahead of Madhavan, actors like Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt were also asked for their views on the matter. However, they refused to comment on it. Shilpa Shetty too gave a simple reaction to the controversy by simply stating she is aware of the language. For the unversed, the language debate began when the Maharashtra government asked government primary schools to start teaching Hindi as a third language, along with Marathi and English. The situation became more tense when videos started spreading on social media, showing MNS party members allegedly targeting people who don’t speak Marathi.

The flick, also starring Rakul Preet Singh, is a romantic drama. This year, he had 3 releases namely – Kesari 2, Test, and Aap Jaisa Koi.
