Pune: Major Khadki station block to disrupt train services on July 13

The Central Railway’s Pune Division will carry out major infrastructure work at Khadki Railway Station on Sunday, July 13, to facilitate the provision of a new platform.

The official statement released by Central Railway stated that the work will involve critical Pre-Non-Interlocking (Pre-NI) and Non-Interlocking (NI) works, leading to widespread disruptions in train operations across the Lonavala–Pune section.

According to officials, the Non-Interlocking work will take place between 12:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Sunday, during which several trains will be either regulated, rescheduled, short-terminated, or cancelled.

Major Changes in Train Operations are as follows:

1. Regulated Trains:

Four express trains departing on July 12 — including the JU-HDP Express, GWL-DD Express, TVC-CSMT Express, and SBC-CSMT Express — will face delays ranging from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours during the Pre-NI period.

2. Rescheduled Trains (July 13):

Multiple long-distance trains will depart later than scheduled, including:

CSMT-MAS Express delayed by 1 hour

Pune-CSMT Express delayed by 1.5 hours

LTT-COA Express delayed by 30 minutes

CSMT-TVC Express delayed by 2 hours

DD-INDB Express delayed by 1.5 hours

3. Short Terminations and Originations:

Train no. 11140 HPT-CSMT Express will terminate at Pune.

Train no. 11029 CSMT-KOP Express will originate from Pune and remain cancelled between CSMT and Pune.

4. Halts Skipped at Khadki:

All mail, express, and suburban trains scheduled to halt at Khadki station on July 13 will skip their stop due to the ongoing NI work. Affected trains include both Pune-CSMT and CSMT-MAS Express services, along with suburban EMU services.

5. Suburban Services Cancelled:

A total of 26 suburban local trains (13 up and 13 down) have been cancelled for July 13. These include routes between Pune, Lonavala, Shivajinagar, and Talegaon.

LC Gates to Remain Shut:

Level Crossing Gates No. 62A and 62AA near Khadki Station will be closed for vehicular movement during the block. One will be operated manually while the other will remain non-interlocked. Commuters are advised to take alternate routes.

Advisory for Passengers:

The Central Railway has urged passengers to check updated train timings and plan their journeys accordingly. The authorities have requested public cooperation to ensure the success of the infrastructure work and minimize inconvenience.
