Nirahua shared that he felt unhappy that his wish to achieve something in life first was ignored by his parents. He added that he was forcibly married to Mansa Yadav by his parents. The singer-actor said that a life partner is someone you love. However, that did not happen for him.
The Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain actor noted that over the years, he has maintained his marital relationship out of a sense of duty. He added that he does not want his kids to suffer the same fate as him and has hence told them to choose their life partner by themselves.
Nirahua tied the knot with Mansha Yadav in 2000. The couple has three children, two sons and a daughter together.
Internet reacts
Nirahua`s remarks sparked a lot of backlash. One user commented on the video, “Boomers shame new generations for having casual physical relationships, meanwhile, many of them married people they barely knew, sometimes didn’t even love, and had children simply because `that’s what you’re supposed to do”. You can disagree with casual culture, that’s fair. But pretending loveless marriages were some moral high ground? Illogical!”
Another user commented, “Get married, have sex with her, even have kids, make the woman lose her pre-pregnancy body and change her life forever. Then claim, I was never able to love her and tell the children and tell the whole world. And INSULT HER.”
On the other hand, some supported Nirahua explaining that the system of arranged marriages was to blame. “True, arranged marriage is a legal procedure to produce babies, many don’t love their partners, and live their entire life in guilt of not marrying the loved ones,” a user wrote. Another comment read, “Some guy on the internet decides to talk s**t and feminist lose their mind and start blaming all men.”
One person questioned, “Why would you tell your wife specifically that you did not love her?. At least, let there be respect! Or divorce her!”
