​Newborn found dumped in sack near Nalasopara bridge in Mumbai 

A one-month-old girl was abandoned in a sack at Nalasopara on Thursday by an unknown person. The baby was found in critical condition, stuffed inside a sack and dumped in the bushes near Kalamb Bridge in Nalasopara West.

The Nalasopara police have registered an FIR against the unknown accused and launched an investigation. The baby was discovered around 2 pm on Thursday when a biker passing by the area heard the baby crying. He immediately alerted the police. 

Speaking with mid-day, Senior Inspector Vishal Valvi of Nalasopara police station said, “We took the baby girl to the hospital, and she is safe. She is undergoing treatment. We are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the accused. We are also checking with local hospitals and maternity centres to track recent deliveries,” Senior Inspector Valvi added. An FIR has been registered against the unidentified accused.
