According to sources, the 3.28 pm Panvel-CSMT local slowed down after the motorman spotted the man lying on the tracks with a white cloth covering himself. The train was brought to a halt in time, preventing any mishap and causing brief delays.
Railway officials said that around 3 pm, the apparently intoxicated person was found lying on the tracks near Platform No. 1. The approaching train was stopped short of him. He was later removed from the tracks, and train services were restored.
