Mrunal revealed that constant comments about her body often left her questioning herself. She explained that there was a time when she would compare herself to others and feel pressured to fit into a certain image. However, a meaningful interaction with a young admirer shifted her perspective. “I remember meeting a young fan who told me they admired my body. It made me realise that I was wishing for someone else’s physique instead of valuing mine. That really changed how I saw myself,” she said.
Mrunal Thakur talks about Akshay Kumar`s advice
The actress also recalled a conversation with Akshay Kumar that played a significant role in helping her rebuild her confidence. Sharing his words, she said, “I had met Akshay sir, and what he told me was very beautiful. He said to me, ‘I’m so happy that you’ve embraced this version of yourself. It’s great that you don’t listen to the voices around you that tend to trigger you or say a thousand things, and you just do what you feel. But if a role requires you to cut down, do that.’”
She described his advice as practical and empowering, as it encouraged her to prioritise her own comfort and well being over outside opinions. Over time, Mrunal said she learned that self acceptance was crucial to overcoming negativity. “Self acceptance was the key,” she shared. “I now focus on what makes me feel healthy and confident, rather than what others say.”
Today, the actress says she feels more secure in her own skin and better equipped to handle public scrutiny. By embracing herself fully and filtering out unnecessary criticism, she has managed to transform a painful experience into a journey of growth and self belief.
