According to MMRC officials, the initiative was aimed at recognising the contribution of women in public transport and highlighting their expanding role in the functioning of Mumbai’s metro network.
Officials said the initiative symbolises a step towards creating a more inclusive public transport system, with women increasingly leading from the front in shaping the future of urban mobility in Mumbai.
