​Maharashtra economy projected to grow 7.9 pc in 2025-26: Economic Survey 

The economy of Maharashtra is projected to grow by 7.9 per cent in the financial year 2025-26, according to the Economic Survey.

The Economic Survey of Maharashtra 2025-26 was presented in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on Thursday during the ongoing 2026 budget session in Mumbai.

The survey provides an overview of the state’s economic performance and outlines projections for the coming financial year.

Maharashtra is one of the largest contributors to India’s overall economic output. The expected growth rate indicates steady economic momentum despite global uncertainties and domestic challenges.

GSDP for 2025-26 estimated at Rs 51,00,597 cr

As per the document, the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) for 2025-26 is estimated at Rs 51,00,597 crore, while the real GSDP (at constant 2011-12 prices) is projected at Rs 28,82,699 crore.

Ashish Jaiswal, minister of state for finance, tabled the state’s economic survey in the state legislative assembly on Thursday. 

The survey further mentioned that the state’s revenue receipts for 2025-26 are expected to be Rs 5,60,964 crore, compared with Rs 5,36,463 crore in the revised estimates for 2024-25.

Tax revenue estimated at Rs 4,77,400 cr

Of the total, tax revenue is estimated at Rs 4,77,400 crore, while non-tax revenue is projected at Rs 33,052 crore in the Budget Estimates for 2025-26.

Meanwhile, the state had already collected Rs 3,71,575 crore in revenue receipts up to December 2025, which accounts for 66.2 per cent of the Budget estimate for the year. Last year, while presenting the budget, the state estimated revenue receipts for 2025-26 at Rs 5,60,963 crore.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will table the state budget on Friday (March 6, 2026) in the state assembly. This will be the second budget of the current Mahayuti government.
